I acknowledge the differences. I was just pointing out how one can draw lessons from one media to the next.

The only problem I had with the casting was that Tom Cruise looks NOTHING like the Jack Reacher in the novels. I think that was kind of lame to just blatantly ignore the way the character appears and pick someone who looks nothing like him just for the sake of star power, not because he was right for the role. He was very awkward in the role. I don't give a rat's ass about his personal life. I just cared about his performance, which was unpleasant in my opinion.Kyoko Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07174532970354702338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-40268337535761636.post-3860990276477390032013-09-03T20:24:17.425-07:002013-09-03T20:24:17.425-07:00I have not watched Jack Reacher, but I wanted it t...I have not watched Jack Reacher, but I wanted it to be really good considering it was filmed here in Pittsburgh with many areas that I would recognize.
However, with writing novels it's a little too "apples to oranges" when comparing them to the process of movie writing. The overall success, meaning audience enjoyment, of a movie doesn't always lie solely within the script. What part did the casting come into it? Were you subliminally turned off by Tom Cruise and his cashe of problems in his personal life?HockeyKnighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10554602049763238040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-40268337535761636.post-31405555879062886652013-08-14T06:47:19.107-07:002013-08-14T06:47:19.107-07:00I agree, Judy. If I love the characters I will literally sit through anything. I also admit that some of my favorite movies are terrible, but I LOVED the characters. Great post.
